OVERVIEW
Is a member of your family substance addict? Are you tired of his addiction and make an effort to on the one hand and meet his needs or cover up his mistakes on the other hand? Are you worried that if you do not support him, his situation will get worse? And is it possible that he became a street addict or disgrace to friends and family?
The above symptoms demonstrate the symptoms of codependency. Codependence not only puts a lot of pressure on family members, but also helps with the development of addiction of the consumer.
If so, you need consultation. You need to establish a good relationship with the consumer and behave appropriately and effectively with the consumer. That way you manage to help yourself and the consumer.
What is codependency?
This term is used for the family members of an individual that has been significantly affected by substance use or addiction and these families are under the influence of the behavior of the consumer or influence the consumer’s substance abuse behavior, and is related to the “covert advocate” term. The term “covert advocate” applies to someone who facilitates an addict’s addictive behavior (for example, by providing drugs directly or giving them money to buy drugs).
